Remstal

Wine culture is living more and more in symbiosis with design culture. The holistic experience translates the wine’s characteristics, the winemakers’ attitudes and their individual approach to quality into clear statements of form, function and design. Pleasure begins in the first moment.

At the Vinothek Weinkorb in Remstal, this maxim is consistently implemented by the architectural firm Spitzbart+partners, starting with the striking exterior design in wood. The play with materials and shapes culminates inside in a cubist and seemingly unreal counter over six meters long made of white solid surface material - the heart of the room. A wine desk for wine culture.

Design

With its complexity, uniqueness and an area that overhangs by over two meters, the console plays a key role in interior design. 23 triangles made of Corian® Glacier White, varying in size and angle, form a three-dimensional topography supported by a concealed wooden body.

Implementation

Our many years of experience in the machining of solid surface materials using 5-axis CNC machines makes the precise and seamless connection of the geometric shapes in exact mitre angles possible. The precisely machined triangles are glued together seamlessly and carefully sanded. The sum of its individual parts creates a total work of art whose plasticity and weightlessness defy its massive dimensions.
