Kasino
Bonn
In the beating heart of Europe, Deutsche Telekom builds bridges between people. But their mission goes beyond the digital space: The personal encounters of the 2,800 dedicated employees at the Bonn headquarters deserve a place that invites communication. This vision is reflected in the newly designed staff canteen with its gleaming white Corian benches.
Sabine Keggenhoff, architect and interior designer, played a key role in creating a space that invites, connects and inspires.
Design
To turn the ideas into reality, the seating and lounge areas were extended and fitted with over 12 metres of specially manufactured modular benches - a masterstroke by Schmitt Ladenbau. The 12-mm-thick Corian Glacier White shelves form a contrast to the oak panels and bathe the room in a soft white that reflects daylight and which is bathed in a magenta-coloured light in the evening. A design echo of the Telekom brand.
Implementation
Hasenkopf, a company specializing in the production of solid surface materials, created works of art from the slabs that look like perfectly draped tablecloths. They created a seamless transition between the seat cushions and benches, giving the room a modern and elegant feed. The focus was on functionality: The elements can be quickly dismantled and converted thanks to the modular design - ideal for events. The redesign has met all expectations and created a place to meet and relax that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing and reflects Deutsche Telekom's corporate design.
