The visionary meeting place for knowledge and the spirit of research - the Merck Innovation Centre - offers a vibrant ecosystem for employees, start-ups and companies worldwide. With a focus on shaping the future, the company is transforming its closed factory premises into a technology and knowledge campus.
This impressive ensemble offers around 22,000 m² of various rooms, including concentration and meeting rooms, a workshop, a library, cafés and lounges. To mark the company's 350th anniversary, the innovation centre shines in its completed form and impresses with its extraordinary architecture, which symbolizes openness, transparency and the joy of innovation.
Design
Baierl + Demmelhuber worked closely with Hasenkopf Industrie Manufaktur to implement the innovation centre’s remarkable interior design. Thanks to many years of cooperation, characterized by trust and partnership, it was possible to use high-quality mineral and acrylic materials, whereby Hasenkopf's experience and expertise were decisive. A total of around 2,500 m² of the high-tech material Corian in Glacier White was used for various space-defining elements, including an impressive 18-meter-long counter in the entrance area.
Implementation
With a combination of excellent teamwork and flexibility, the Corian furniture was delivered and installed in line with construction progress, making the project go off without a hitch. The innovation centre’s final design impresses with its flexibility, functionality and inspirational power.
