At the "Lindt Home of Chocolate" in Kilchberg near Zurich, everything revolves around chocolate - staged in a fascinating way by Christ & Gantenbein. The new building extends Lindt & Sprüngli's traditional headquarters to include a chocolate museum, research center, café and store. At the heart of the impressive atrium with its 9-metre-high chocolate fountain, visitors are welcomed by a circular counter made of Corian® - manufactured by Hasenkopf in collaboration with Pianorm Innenausbau AG.

Design

The concept designed by the architects follows a clear architectural language: flowing forms, high-quality materials and precise execution characterize the appearance.
The seamless reception counter made of Corian® Glacier White picks up on the curves of the concrete structures and blends seamlessly into the overall appearance of the atrium. With a diameter of around six meters, the counter was manufactured in four segments, transported and glued on site. Functional details such as a cantilevered pocket shelf and a recessed plinth underline the ergonomic design. Corian® is also used in the sanitary area - with individually shaped washbasin units that combine elegance, hygiene and durability.

Implementation

Based on the architects' 3D CAD data, Hasenkopf produced the sophisticated form elements using the latest 5-axis CNC technology and precise 3D shaping. This resulted in millimeter-precise components that were assembled to perfection by Pianorm. The individually manufactured washbasin units with waste disposal chutes, niche back panels and shelves were also created based on designs by Christ & Gantenbein. The result is a thoroughly coherent room concept - architecturally precise, perfectly crafted and as flawless in material and form as the chocolate that is created here.
