Auer Tischlerei GmbH from Heiligenkreuz am Waasen, under the leadership of Managing Director Thomas Raß, has a clear philosophy that focuses on innovative solutions and the highest quality. For a particularly demanding kitchen project, the team defined the goal of creating a floating kitchen design that would set a central, high-quality accent in the room with its lightness.

In order to meet the complex requirements for design, function and flawless aesthetics, Auer Tischlerei relied on its proven partnership with Hasenkopf, which has existed since 2007. Our task was to translate the optical illusion of weightlessness into a prototype with the necessary industrial precision.

Design

 

The centerpiece of the project was the floating kitchen island made of Corian® Glacier White. The optical illusion of weightlessness had to be combined with the need for stability. The biggest challenge for Hasenkopf was to integrate plywood reinforcements into the Corian® outer shell in such a way that they remained completely invisible. This required extremely precise CNC machining and in-depth technical expertise.

Implementation

 

Hasenkopf used its expertise to seamlessly combine the stability of the plywood reinforcements with the solid surface material. The precise production enabled the Auer joinery to carry out the final assembly without any problems. The Corian® worktop and the seamlessly integrated FSP-50 sink complete the ensemble. The result of this close collaboration is an aesthetically and functionally perfect individual piece that combines the innovative power of craftsmanship with the precision of industrial production.
